I found this pair of sorrowful looking angels in Eglwys St Thomas Church, which stands next to St Dogmaels Abbey, in St Dogmaels, Pembrokeshire, Wales. I love their blond curly hair and I suppose I am feeling a bit sad as my holiday is nearly over, only a couple of more days. But….. for a holiday that really wasn’t for exploration, I have managed to date…….1 Abbey, I water mill, 3 churches and a railway trip and a couple more churches hopefully tomorrow. So there could possibly be a Welsh theme going on in next weeks postings…..maybe 🙂
They look like they could do with some sleep! Looking forward to your Welsh-themed posts!
Well they have been up there since 1885, so I think you could be right 🙂
😀
These are so nearly mirror images – I wonder how the artist prepared them.
Maybe he used a transfer and then just coloured in as he wanted to…..just a guess 🙂
They do look fed up don’t they, not exactly an inspiring sight for the congregation to see. Great to see you posting from Wales though. You’re on my old stomping ground as I lived in Cardigan for a while. Have you visited the beautiful but rustic chapel at Mwnt? It’s one of my favourites – you might want to take a jumper though as it gets a little chilly out there.
No we haven’t been to Mwnt, I have read about it, but that will have to wait until next year now. We went through Cardigan yesterday, nice little town. You should enjoy next weeks posts, you will most probably have visited them all 🙂
