I have no idea what instrument this angel is playing. I’ve trawled the net, but have come up with a blank. It looks like a portable miniature organ, with a key board, pipes and a squeeze box underneath. Very interesting, what ever it is……if only the angel could speak.
One more for the Heavenly Orchestra, from All Saints Church, Staunton Harold in Warwickshire.
Hello, Lynne! I suppose it’s a kind of portative organ. But it’s strange that the lengths of the pipes are the same. Please refer to Wikipedia for the detailed info.

Thank you so much…..well I was nearly right…..although as you noticed the the lengths of the pipe do not seem quite right, maybe artist license 🙂
Yes I think it’s an organetto – there are pictures on the interWeb and apparently it was a very popular instrument in medieval times.

Thank you …..yes is looks like it, I have never seen one before…. wonder what else I will find 🙂
I’m glad you’ve identified it! I’ve never seen anything like this, either. We are learning a lot! 🙂
I did leave it to nearly the end, just a couple more to go, mainly because I wasn’t sure what it was……but we know now 🙂
