Two birds in the hand of St Francis of Assisi.

For my ‘Feather & Fur’ stained glass collection.  Found in the Cathedral Church of St Nicholas in Newcastle.

  1. I think this looks like a sparrowhawk and a pigeon – perhaps symbolic, because one would normally prey on the other! I have always had a special admiration for St Francis of Assisi!

    1. I seem to remember that St Francis was the first story we were told about in Sunday School, so he has always been a favourite of mine. I think you are right about the birds being symbolic 🙂
