Another one of my many photos of abandoned houses on the Outer Hebridean Island of South Uist.

  1. I am so enjoying all the post on abandoned houses!! Thank you for sharing ,I’m learning so much about Scotland. To get to the Island ,I’m thinking that one has to ferry to them..

    1. So glad you are enjoying them, I loved taking photos of them. Yes, we caught a ferry from Oban in Scotland which takes you to Barra, about a 5 hour journey, This takes you to the bottom of the chain of islands that make up the Outer Hebrides or another name is the Western Isles, We then caught a ferry from Barra to South Uist, then by way of a causeway went across another small island and another causeway took us to North Uist, where I took this photo. From North Uist you catch another ferry to Harris and Lewis, then another ferry to main land Scotland, then we drove to the very top of Scotland to John O’Groats……then drove all the way back down to Norfolk were we live. That is a short version of the holiday, but hope that helps you to understand about the Outer Hebrides 🙂
