When visiting the Isle of Mull, off the west coast of Scotland, one visit is a must…..the Tobermory Whisky Distillery….see husbands purposeful walk or even a stride, yes more of a stride. He gets the same kicks from visiting a distillery, as I do an ancient building, so its a little price I have to pay for all the driving he does for me….. I try not to let on that I enjoy visiting them nearly as much as he does. I must admit all these distilleries are located in the most wonderful places, I suppose thats why I like to visit them and a taster or two. Tobermory is a lovely place to visit, and in 2013 the sun was shining for us, I will do a post later, but for now this is another post for my ‘Whisky Distillery Category’

I wouldn’t mind trying a sip of that. 🙂 Do distilleries have tastings like wineries do? I really like it when they paint the buildings different colors. Especially on a sunny day. I wonder how they decide which building gets which color. It wouldn’t be as nice if they were all blue. 🙂
Yes Pat, you get a little taste and also a gift which is normally the glass that you had the taster in, has the name of the whisky on it. But you have to pay for the trip around the distillery, sometimes we just visit and look around the shop, and spend the money on whisky instead 🙂 I’m not sure how they work out the colour schemes in Scotland, in some villages in Wales, they are told what colour to paint their houses and it normally works ok 🙂 I love them, all bright and cheerful.
I hope to get to Mull one day … and I’m sure hubby will gravitate towards the distillery too!
