We come to the end of our visit to the Isle of Iona, Inner Hebrides, Scotland, for May 2016, I can not drag it out any longer, not that I want to leave, I have just run out of photos 🙂 This was the walk back from the ‘Bay at the Back of the Ocean’. I love the little vegetable garden, with the dash of red tulips. But it makes you start to think, it takes two ferries to get here from the mainland, and even then Oban is not a big city. So everything has two ferry rides and then, where do you put all your rubbish, I think you have to become very good at recycling and making do.
Nancy made a friend, a lamb. Nancy and her new friend had lots of sniffs, and the lamb actually bleated when we moved off, but there was no way I could smuggle the lamb on to the ferry…..no not even for Nancy.
The next lot of visitors disembarking off the ferry from Mull, I think they will be heading for the Abbey, but hopefully they will look a little closer at this beautiful island.
Time for us to leave this little island of paradise, we have visited three times, I really hope there will be a fourth time……still lots more to explore 🙂
May 2016
I think the lamb’s mother might have had something to say about it leaving with you. 🙂 That is so sweet that the lamb wanted to play with Nancy. Next time you come back you’ll have to see if any sheep come over to greet her. I’m sure you’ll be back! 🙂
I was quite surprised at the lamb, it was’nt scared and Nancy even gave it a kiss, she will kiss anything that stands still 🙂 Yes we still have the other side of the Island to do and enjoy our visits do much, fingers cross we will 🙂
I think it would be delightful to live here! I’m not a shopping person…would love the excuse that town is two ferry rides away. Nancy is so sweet even other creatures notice.😊
Yes Nancy loves everything that has two or four legs 🙂 I should think you would have to be very good at planing what you need for shopping each month……which I am not good at, I always forget something 🙂
If you had to do without the missed item for a month you would soon learn 😃 we have an half hour to a smaller town ,one hour to a city…so there are times we have to do without…
Yes I think you are right, would do us good to go without sometimes 🙂
Thanks for all these posts and photos, so I could share on the beauty too. 🙂
Thank you, just glad you enjoyed them 🙂
I did, and you’re welcome 🙂
🙂
Thank you for sharing your Iona pics, Lynne. It has been a pleasure to see them. It really is a paradise, and it’s hard to describe the effect it has on you. Beautiful.
Glad you enjoyed them Jo, all the time I had photos to post, I felt I was still there, but now I will have to wait one or two years before a return visit, never mind, I will enjoy it more for that 🙂
