On the road just after the village of Llanon on the coast of Cardigan Bay, Wales, if you look up, nine times out of ten, you will see two Red Kites playing in the sky. ย At the week-end, when we were on our way home, after a visit to Wales, I glanced up and saw them playing in the thermals, soaring higher and higher into the stormy clouds and luckily, camera was ready.

This is where they play, Llanon, Wales.

  1. I remember donating money to help reintroduce Red Kites back into Wales through the RSPB, when I was a young men. Maybe late 80’s. Good to see they’re still going strong.

      1. Its wonderful when a conservation project goes according to plan. I have seen them in other areas of Wales, but you will always see them here, they must nest in the same place year after year, must google them ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. Thank you, but I missed the best shot, one bird came up the hillside along the side of the car and then flew straight up, still it would more than likely have been one big blur ๐Ÿ™‚
