Contrary to belief, there are large amounts of Venice that you can find tourist free, well except for me.   Just escape down a few alleys and across a couple of bridges and you will find yourself more or less alone, far from the madding crowd, except for maybe the odd pigeon or two 🙂

      1. It could come our way, but normally misses us, as we stick out a bit and it seems to by pass us and heads out to sea. Ha ha where we live in the Fens, is one of the driest spots in England, although you wouldn’t think so at the moment. But sometimes we do get really heavy winds, but not this time, Kent got the worse of it, which is a straight line down from us about 3 hours away…..not along way compared to the distances in the States, but we are only a very small island really 🙂

      2. A good sized island, I would say. Small enough that travel doesn’t take days, yet big enough to have a good variety of landscapes and climates. So hopefully the rain will end soon.:)

      3. Yes, we all moan if we have to travel too far here 🙂 It’s odd really, if you take the Isle of Wight, off the south coast, which is a small island, each part is so totally different than the other, also they have different accents for each part, a mini Great Britain really 🙂

      1. I should say yapping really, which sometimes can be worse then barking…….no its not bad, its when they find wildlife and it scares them 🙂
