Contrary to belief, there are large amounts of Venice that you can find tourist free, well except for me. Just escape down a few alleys and across a couple of bridges and you will find yourself more or less alone, far from the madding crowd, except for maybe the odd pigeon or two 🙂

Wonderful! Love the color in this. 🙂
Thank you, I just needed a little bit of sunshine, its rained here for 3 days non stop……never mind its got to stop soon 🙂
Does that bad weather they’ve had in the south come your way or does it go elsewhere?
It could come our way, but normally misses us, as we stick out a bit and it seems to by pass us and heads out to sea. Ha ha where we live in the Fens, is one of the driest spots in England, although you wouldn’t think so at the moment. But sometimes we do get really heavy winds, but not this time, Kent got the worse of it, which is a straight line down from us about 3 hours away…..not along way compared to the distances in the States, but we are only a very small island really 🙂
A good sized island, I would say. Small enough that travel doesn’t take days, yet big enough to have a good variety of landscapes and climates. So hopefully the rain will end soon.:)
Yes, we all moan if we have to travel too far here 🙂 It’s odd really, if you take the Isle of Wight, off the south coast, which is a small island, each part is so totally different than the other, also they have different accents for each part, a mini Great Britain really 🙂
That is something! Probably communities that were self-sufficient and kept pretty much to themselves.
Yes I think you are right, thats want happened on the main inland, so it would happen on smaller island as well .
One thing about living there ,you would know your neighbors well! A nice glimpse into every day living.
Yes, I think you would have to be neighbour friendly, no good for our family of four barking dogs 🙂
Yep, no happy neighbors with that going on! :))
I should say yapping really, which sometimes can be worse then barking…….no its not bad, its when they find wildlife and it scares them 🙂
Yes, ours do that too! Sometimes it’s nice to be warned sometimes not so much.
