Christmas Past – Blicking Hall, Norfolk

Scroll down to content

Last Christmas 2015 we visited Blickling Hall in Norfolk, the kitchens were dated around Christmas 1950’s to 1960’s, from what I can remember.  The cooks were cooking mince pies and sausages rolls, the smells were wonderful.  The food on the tables represented the type of Christmas food which you would have eaten in those decades.  I have used a filter on the photos, as I wanted to make them look older and also the light in the kitchens was quite bad and played havoc with the photos.  Tomorrow I will take you on a trip around the house to look at the beautiful Christmas decorations.

  1. The first thing I thought of was how great that kitchen must smell. Your efforts paid off, the photos look great. Did you get to sample anything? 🙂

    1. Oh yes and you eat different things than we do for Christmas, my brother cooks an English Christmas dinner every year, even after living for about 40 years in the US, he can not get used to an American one 🙂
