Rough Seas, Lyme Regis, West Dorset

Scroll down to content

We have just come back from a couple of days holiday in Dorset & Devon, what a couple of days to pick.  Rain and gale force winds, make for wonderful rough seas, well you have to make the most of what you get.  We had a wonderful time, we travelled along from Lyme Regis in Dorset to Torquay in Devon, stopping at various sea side resorts where I could take some photos of the rough seas.  I also visited a couple of churches and actually went fossil hunting on Charmouth beach, which was a little windy, but I managed to get some good shots and we found a fossil…… more photos to follow.

  1. Good shots.
When we went on a fossil walk in Lyme we were told that stormy weather was what you needed when fossilling. It brings down new material from the cliffs. But you need to make sure you don’t get burried in a landslide. 😧

      1. Yes, that’s the nature of the coast, especially here where the rock is so fragile. But, then, that’s why there’s so many fossils for you to find!
