Wolla Bank, Coastal Country Park, Lincolnshire

Last August 2016, we took our four little dogs on holiday to the Lincolnshire Coast and they had such fun.  Empty beaches to run and dig in the sand, bark at the horses…….from a distance of course.  This stretch of coast line is called Wolla Bank, a medieval bank built to keep the water out, so people could farm.  It was a beautiful sunny day, a little windy as you will see from Toffee and Eddies photos….but then, thats quite normal for the coast.

While we were there I had a go at taking some photos of moving horses, not too bad, but much better when they were just standing around, but it was good practise.  Its not as easy as you think, they can get up to quite a speed on the sand.

Toffee and Eddie found some friends, but were not brave enough to go in the water.  Nancy and Nipper were off running, but the youngest two, have leads on when around other dogs, otherwise we would never see them again…..well we would, but way off in the distance.

  1. Love the riders and horses, especially with the wind turbines. The monochrome shots are even more effective. What a wonderful day and location. You do take me on some wonderful little trips. Thanks.

    1. Yes that is one big wind turbine farm, they have become part of the landscape now, at sea and on land. I quite like them, a nice clean way to make energy 🙂 Glad you enjoyed the riders and horses, it was nice because they didn’t mind me taking their photos. Also glad you enjoy the trips and there are a lot more to come, so keep your walking boots on 🙂

  2. These are great pictures – they really give me a sense of what your day on the beach was like. I love the dogs in the wind – you can see their personalities in their faces! And I love the picture of the woman riding the black and white horse!

  3. Looks like you all had a really great time. Even if it was a bit windy. 🙂 I’d have been happy just watching the riders. Thanks for the great photos. 🙂

  4. I love every single one of those photos! The sand is nearly the same color as the sand here. In fact, add a few dunes and trees and subtract the wind farm and it could be Michigan 🙂 Lovely photos of what was clearly a lovely day.

    1. So glad you enjoyed the photos, Lincolnshire has a lovely coastline, really beautiful sandy beaches and nearly always empty 🙂 and now I know what the beaches are like in Michigan 🙂
