Every year we visit The Church of St John The Baptist in Stamford, Lincolnshire. They have a Christmas card and decorations sale inside the church each year, also lots of dressed Christmas trees, which makes the church very colourful on a cold grey day. Just a few photos from last years visit 2016.
Great shots! That’s quite an impressive display they have. Nice nativity. Baby Jesus looks kind of silvery. I’m not sure what that is, but it’s a neat effect. The black and white of the columns makes them look really ancient. That’s a nice event and good that it’s close enough that you can get there every year.
Thank you Pat. It’s a Medieval church and it has the most wonderful roof angels which I have posted about before. The only problem with taking any shots of the angels, are the lights, the angels go all blurry when the lights are on when taking photos. We always go and do some Christmas shopping in Stamford, its a lovely ancient town and looks very Christmassy, a nice way to get into the festive mood 🙂
Beautiful from beginning to end!
Magnificent place….
It is lovely and best of all it’s always warm 🙂
Can be unusual for a church…all that solid, cold stone
Oh some now have under floor heating 🙂
Oh, OK
How beautiful the decoration is! Amazing!
It amazing how the trees are all different, lots of work there 🙂
Beautiful church, well photographed.
Thank you 🙂
