A Misty Trip Up The Brienzer Rothorn Mountain, Switzerland

Scroll down to content

Part two of  ‘A Trip On Lake Brienz, To Catch A Train, Switzerland’ …..this is the train bit.  We landed at Brienz and made our way to the small train station.  The train was interesting with a grass roof, so you would get a great view on a lovely clear day, which ours was not.  Ours was very wet and cold, getting much colder the further up the mountain we went.  It was just a shame that a second mountain train trip was lost to clouds again.  But it was interesting, somewhat different than going up the Jungfrau.  The views would had been spectacular and we did get little glimpses on the way back down.  So hopefully this September when we go back, we might see a little more.  The next post is a walk around Brienz and the cruise back to Interlaken.

The Brienzer Rothorn is a mountain of the Emmental Alps, in Switzerland. With an elevation of 2,350 metres above sea level, the Brienzer Rothorn is the highest summit of the range.
