The Parish Church of Carzano on Monte Isola, Lake Iseo, was the fourth church that I manage to explore. I actually only had about five minutes, if that. We were walking around the island and we were a bit pushed for time, husband threatened to leave me, if I stayed longer. I got a few photos, but it was a little difficult as not a very large church, but I think they show you the colourful paint work.
There has been a church on the site from 1570, but rebuilt and restored many times. The frescos over the nave of the church, depict stories of Saint John the Baptist and other biblical stories. The inside of the church is aisleless and characterized by a polygonal plan and a dome. I like the marble paint effect on some of the walls. As I said, just a quick visit and it was back to the walk.
