From Paratico in Northern Italy to Portofino on the Italian Riviera (Road Trip 44)

Scroll down to content

We left Paratico on the shores of Lake Iseo and travelled down to the Italian Riviera, September 2918.  Husband wanted to visit Portofino, I on the other hand wasn’t too sure, too busy and too touristy, but no, I loved it, because…..it had a lighthouse, castle and some lovely churches.  I must admit I did sleep a lot on the way down, my cold was not getting any better, but a day just travelling would do me the world of good.  I did wake from time to time and took a few photos from the wizzing car window……husband was not hanging around.  There are lots of lovely hill top towns and villages when you get nearer to the Riviera, similar to the French Riviera, I wanted to visit everyone of them.  This was the second part of our holiday and the weather just got hotter, could do with some of the heat now.  We couldn’t afford to stay in Portofino, as we hadn’t won the lottery, but one village along, was a lot cheaper, about an the 8th of the price, and the village was right on the beach.  More to follow.
