St Peter & St Pauls’s Church ‘Flower Festival’ on the day of the Rose Fair in Wisbech, Cambridgeshire, 2014. The church looked stunning and smelt lovely, the whole church was full of the most beautiful flower arrangements. There are some very talent people in Wisbech and the surrounding area to be able to fill a church so beautifully.
Echoes of the Past 
Wow, what a lovely selection of photos and such a wonderful, beautiful array of flowers! There are some magnificent and very creative arrangements there. I bet the whole church smells lovely, too. There’s something very restful about a church festival. But you can see how much work and thought has gone into those arrangements beforehand! Amazing.
Thank you Jo, I love it when a church has a festival, the whole feeling of the church changes, it almost becomes alive. We visited Tattershall Castle in Lincolnshire yesterday and the church next door is an amazing building. The reason is, the chancel is almost cut of from the nave by a stone rood screen, but in the nave, that used to be just for the people, there was a small cafe, book stalls, china stalls, lots of small displays telling you things about the church. Lots of people using the centre of the church, which they would have done hundred of years ago, with the chancel left quiet for anyone wanting to pray. In all the churches I have visited I have never seen the nave used to this extent, it just seemed so right, alive and not a museum, maybe more should think along these lines. It might save some of them, almost become a village hall……..most probably get shot for this. By the way the caste is lovely, I’m going to post about it tonight 🙂
