As we were finishing our trip up the Grand Canal to our Hotel, the sky was getting darker the further the water bus chugged, and chug they do when coming into each stop, especially when they are lining up to the docking stations, backwards and forwards….ha ha no consideration for photographers. It was a lovely trip ending with the sky looking like blue velvet……we hoped that was a good sign for the next day and it was, a day that could not have been better…..but thats for later 🙂

Wonderful evening photos Lynne, it’s wonderful seeing the various rooms in the buildings litup, it creates an almost Christmas feel to the photos 🙂
Thanks Andy, it did look very festive at night, really beautiful 🙂
You’re welcome Lynne 🙂

Gorgeous photos – we have just come back from Venice so nice to see someone else’s photos as well!
Thank you, yes we came back by train last Sunday, it has a special charm all of its own. I visited over 35 years ago, but this time it seemed cleaner and not so smelly ….which can only be a good thing 🙂
Oh so beautiful! Thank you so much for this – I’ve never been to Venice, nor am I likely to go, but now I’ve been virtually! 🙂
Thats what I like to hear, that you feel like you have visited through my photos, thank you it means a lot to me. There are lots of places that I will never visit, but have through peoples blogs….the wonderful world of blogging 🙂
You’re very welcome 🙂 And yes, we get to experience the world through WP from the comfort of our arm chairs 🙂
Yes is a wonderful way to travel the world 🙂

I love all these evening photos. So hard for most people with a camera to capture. Sounds like a great time!
Thank you, yes we had a wonderful time, too short, but visits always are….need to live there for a year ha ha 🙂
What fabulous shades of blue! Beautiful – it looks so atmospheric.
Yes the darker the sky became, the more it looked like blue velvet, it was beautiful 🙂
